Size: the tallest 15.5 by 3, 14 by 3, 12.5 by 3 and 11.5 by 3. Rudy Osolnik was a master wood turner and highly celebrated artist. He was born in 1915 in Dawson, New Mexico but lived most of his life in Berea, Kentucky, where for forty years he taught in the Industrial Arts Department at Berea College. His work has a minimalist aesthetic and is graceful, functional and easy to live with. The candlesticks on offer are a wonderful example of his work. His work is very much influenced by the Danish Modern aesthetic. This grouping of nine masterfully turned wood candlesticks date to the 1970s. Most are carved from walnut, with a few non-identified type of woods. There is some minor damage to two of the candlesticks, as identified by the photos.
