GPO candlestick telephone No. 4/236 with Bellset No. 4/236 by Sterling of Dagenham dated 1920 with No. 1 transmitter (correct for CB working) marked 2C7087 CB. The base wiring diagram is intact. The pressed steel base appears to have been refinished, but not in the 30 years I have owned it. The receiver is very good with the usual age-related colour change. The cord, originally green, is frayed within the housing (pictured) but still has continuity. The telephone is still connected by its original 5-way green cord to a wooden block terminal mounted on a Bellset No. 5, which again is in truly excellent condition both internally and externally. This is by British Ericsson and dated 1914. I do not know if the case has been re-varnished. If you need specific full-size images, message me and I can attach them to the reply.
