Pair of Vintage Sterling Silver Candlesticks. These elegant candlesticks are made from sterling silver although the bases and stems have been filled which is fairly usual with candlesticks. The sticks have fixed sconces, tapered stems and round bases which have concave tops. They are of plain form with the exception of raised bands to the bottom of the sconce cups and the tops and bottoms of the stems. The bases are covered with green baize. Both sticks are hallmarked for Birmingham 1988 with the makers mark of Broadway & Co. The sconces will accommodate candles measuring up to 2cm (¾) in diameter. These candlesticks are in lovely condition and both stand nice and vertical without a wobble. The only damage I can find is a small area to one (where the stem joins the base) which as 3 small bruises to it please see the photos. There are also a few small dints around the edges of the bases but theyre not very noticeable. The baize is secure with just a few feint stain marks caused through silver polish.
