SOMETHING DIFFERENT Vintage Group of Ornate Altar Candlesticks Tall Church
These candlesticks I believe came from a church. The candlestick’s surface are metal foil which were embossed , wrapped around a wood base, and then brushed with a black wash. The metal foil composition looks to be silver plated over brass or copper. The stones are embedded in the foil are various colors in type. I looked the sticks over and three small stones are missing. They could easily be replaced as they are glued on. There is a little bit of wax on one of the tall sticks and a small amount of verdigris(greenish oxidation) on several which can be removed. These were made in India. Probably in the 70’s or 80s’. The tall candlesticks are 18 1/2″ in height and 6 1/2 ” across the base. The shorter candlesticks are 12″ in height by 4″ across the base. All together they weigh around 10 pounds. These candlesticks are nice and over all in very good condition!
