Here we have a set of four beautiful, vintage Ercol Windsor Dining Chairs, model 376. Sometimes know as candlestick chairs, they are highly likely to have been manufactured during the 1960s as three of them still have the blue Ercol label on the rear of the seat and they have the slotted screw studs on the under part of the seat. These are a very stylish chair, comprising a curved, horizontal seatback with four pairs of crisscrossing spindles and a solid, English blonde elm wood, oyster shaped seat. The beech frame and tapered, turned, splayed legs have double cross-stick stretchers for added style. The chairs are in used but outstanding vintage condition. They are sturdy and solid with fixings and joints secure and solid. However, commensurate with their vintage age, they do have some minor marks and signs of use, particularly around the feet – these do not, in any way, detract from their overall condition though. The set has been very lightly refurbished, waxed and polished to bring them back to somewhere near original spec. The model 376 is one of the most sought after chairs in the Ercol Windsor range and like all Ercol chairs they are beautifully designed and superbly well made. Seatback Height – 78 cms.
